Mission Statement & Values

Purpose

Assist others in in finding a way back to Italy to do a marvelous work and a wonder. This includes my family, those of Italian descent, returned missionaries and especially those who have accepted the restored gospel and moved away to other countries. Your way may be moving back to Italy, visiting on extended or short visits, just making friends and communicating or doing family history and indexing in Italy or in your own home.

Commitment

I am committed to work with others by identifying and communicating with others to share the idea of “A Way to Italy” and invite them to consider it, pray about it, reflect on their Patriarchal Blessing, and seek wise counsel in making decisions..

Gathering Place

The gathering place for Italians is in Italy. “The gathering place for Peruvians is in the stakes of Zion in Peru, or in the places which soon will become stakes. The gathering place for Chileans is in Chile; for Bolivians it is in Bolivia; for Koreans it is in Korea; and so it goes through all the length and breadth of the earth. Scattered Israel in every nation is called to gather to the fold of Christ, to the stakes of Zion, as such are established in their nations."(“Come: Let Israel Build Zion,” Ensign, May 1977, pp. 115-118)

Convenience

“Sometimes we are tempted to let our lives be governed more by convenience than by covenant. It is not always convenient to live gospel standards and stand up for truth and testify of the Restoration. It usually is not convenient to share the gospel with others. It isn’t always convenient to respond to a calling in the Church, especially one that stretches our abilities. Opportunities to serve others in meaningful ways, as we have covenanted to do, rarely come at convenient times. But there is no spiritual power in living by conveniences. The power comes as we keep our covenants. As we look at the lives of these early Saints, we see that their covenants were primary force in their lives.” M. Russell Ballard

Urgency

“Such has been the anxiety manifested by the saints to receive the ordinances [of the Temple], and such the anxiety on our part to administer to them, that I have given myself up entirely to the work of the Lord in the Temple night and day, not taking more than four hours sleep, upon an average, per day, and going home but once a week.” Brigham Young

Blessings

“But many were the blessings we had received in the House of the Lord which has caused us joy and comfort in the midst of all our sorrows and enabled us to have faith in God knowing he would guide us and sustain us in the unknown journey that lay before us, for if it had not been for the faith and knowledge that was bestowed upon us in that temple by the influence and help of the Spirit of the Lord our journey would have been like one taking a leap in the dark.” Sarah Rich

SCriptures

 Moroni 7: 35-37; Moroni 10:18-19

Process

Discover the people and communicate the ideas and inspire the hearts. Identify the places to go, things to see and the work to do. This is not a Church sponsored missionary proselyting effort, but it is an effort to develop opportunities of service, friendship, and self-reliance. Utilize tools to communicate, recruit, assist and inspire. It is for anyone who wants to find a way to Italy.
